Storyline:
Lissy Lunies (Corinna Harfouch) is in her mid-70s and secretly relieved that her demented husband is now in a nursing home. However, her newfound freedom is short-lived, as she herself battles severe illnesses such as diabetes, kidney failure, cancer, and impending blindness. She doesn’t have much time left. Her son Tom (Lars Eidinger), a conductor, is working with his depressed friend Bernard (Robert Gwisdek) on a new piece titled "Sterben" (Dying), whose name becomes a reflection of Tom's own life.
Meanwhile, Liv (Anna Bederke), Tom’s ex-girlfriend, turns him into a surrogate father for her child, which could have been his own. Tom’s sister Ellen (Lilith Stangenberg) throws herself into an affair with dentist Sebastian (Ronald Zehrfeld), while both indulge in their shared love for alcohol. But everything comes at a price...
