She prepares the dead... But some don’t stay buried.

Lela, a quiet, solitary mortician in a rural village, is known for her meticulous and respectful care of the dead. But her tranquil existence is shattered when she is forced to confront the unexplained death of her mother—a mystery no one wants to speak of.

As Lela begins to investigate the past, spirits begin to appear—restless, watching, warning. The body she cleanses each night carries whispers from beyond, and the mortuary becomes a threshold between the living and the dead.

The deeper Lela digs, the more she uncovers a chilling truth buried in family, tradition, and betrayal. Haunted by visions and tormented by a presence that refuses to leave, Lela realizes the line between this world and the next has been broken—and her mother’s soul may not be the only one calling for justice.
